Quiz Night

The Quiz Night will be in the Jenner Hall starting at 7.30pm. Food in the form of a Ploughman’s supper or similar will be provided but please bring your own liquid refreshment and glasses.

It is normally a lot of fun and a chance to socialise. We will also provide everyone with a free glass of wine so it is easier to answer the questions.

Tickets will be £5.00 a head.

Barn Dance
Saturday 13th November 2010

The Barn Dance has become our end of year celebration. We will have the same caller as last year. There is no requirement to have done any Barn Dancing before, you will learn on the job.

Please contact Yvonne Keeble on 01793-751963 to let us know you will be attending and for tickets. Tickets will also be available from C&R Grocers.

Hot food will be provided but please bring your own liquid refreshment and glasses.

Tickets for the event will be £10 per head.

Twinning Visit 2011

The news from Sucé is that it is la Rentrée, summer is over and everyone in returning to Sucé, so this Saturday there is a meeting to plan their next year. Hopefully this meeting will endorse the weekend of the 1st of May.

In any event Dominique has promised a firm date by the time of the Quiz Night (no pressure then).

Last weekend was the Festival de l’Erdre and as part of the festival the Twinning Committee did a car boot sale (Vide-Grenier) starting at 7.00am in the morning.

We are planning to go by coach – this has a number of advantages – cost, we get a chance to meet each other on the way there, we can take in a tourist attraction on the way there or back, more flexible timetables, we can subsidise children, the availability of a coach when in Sucé, those who can’t stand coaches or boats can make their own way, as can those who wish to extend their stay.

So as soon as we confirm the date we will be looking for folks to sign up, so we can push ahead with the logistics.

Summer BBQ
Saturday 10th July 2010

Once again we were favoured by the weather and the evening went really well. With lots of food and free wine hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves.

Thanks to Chris & Cathy for hosting and for organising the food. But don’t let us forget all those who provided wonderful salads and puddings.

Thanks to Yvonne and John for doing all the admin before the BBQ.

I should just reiterate our thanks again to the Cricklade Festival team for providing such an excellent backdrop to the Twinning Visit.

AGM

Just a quick reminder not to forget the AGM in January.

For those of you new to Twinning the AGM is when we inject new life into the committee with the election of a new committee.

We normally also find time for supper and a game of skittles, the date will probably be the 4th Monday in January, so the 24th of January at the Bowls Club, if we are able to book

and as I have promised not to use the French spelling.
